Why Stone Castle Hotel & Conference Center is “Home” in Branson

December 27, 2018 By Tina 29 Comments

Having the opportunity to travel is a blast.  I mean, I absolutely love to explore new destinations and places ~ especially with my family.  However, said exploring can also be very exhausting!  After a full day of walking around, taking photos of everything I see (yes – I take pictures of EVERYTHING!) and learning new things about new places, it’s good to know there is a comfy room waiting for me to retire my weary feet.  This year, I traveled to Branson, Missouri, several times and there is no place I’d rather stay in Branson than at the Stone Castle Hotel & Conference Center.  From comfort to cost, it is the perfect home away from home in the Ozark Mountain region.

I was invited as media by Stone Castle Hotel & Conference Center to explore and enjoy Branson.  However, all opinions are 110% mine and mine alone.  This post also contains affiliate links. Please see my Disclosure policy for more information.

Stone Castle Hotel & Conference Center

Stone Castle Hotel & Conference Center is a uniquely designed venue that welcomes guests with open arms.  It’s nestled in the Ozark Mountains off Green Mountain Road, strategically placed so that you can reach any attraction within minutes.  I know I shared a ton of details about Stone Castle back in April when I first visited Branson.  However, this most recent trip had some extra magic involved that I just felt compelled to share.  I mean ~ the holiday spirit is contagious, right?

We were invited to return to explore Branson the first weekend of November, thus giving us the ability to experience the start of the holidays in this neck of the woods.  Ah ~ Christmas in the Ozarks!  There was a slight chill in the air and the holiday decorations were already out around town.  The local performances had a festive feel to them.  It was just a GREAT time to visit the area.

For me, there was an extra special piece to the trip that made it just a little more joyful and triumphant.  If you remember my previous post about Stone Castle Hotel & Conference Center, you may remember that I mentioned that this unique hotel has some creative accommodations, including over 35 themed rooms and suites!

Yup – themed!!  From Sherlock Holmes to Dolly Parton to Major League Baseball to the Titanic!

When we received our invites to the November event, I had one dream, one request.  I dreamed of making it a true and complete Christmas vacation by staying in the one room that is dripping in Christmas spirit.  That’s the Andy Williams Christmas Extravaganza Suite and I put in my request for that room as soon as I was given permission to do so.

My apologies for the very loud screaming you may have possibly heard across the country the day I heard I was getting it!!

The Andy Williams Christmas Extravaganza Suite

When November arrived and I entered my room that first evening, I was as giddy as a child on Christmas morning.  I literally could not wait to open that door and see how festive it was inside.  This was a room designed by Jimmy Osmond, the youngest Osmond brother who eventually took over the Andy Williams Performing Arts Center after Andy’s passing.  I had seen pictures and had heard so much about the decor that it was one of the highlights drawing me on this particular media trip.

Much to my delight, the room was perfect!  There were Christmas decorations on the wall, around the television and in the bathroom.  Everywhere I turned, it felt like the holidays.

The large king bed was dressed in Christmas colors and looked so comfortable.

The hot tub was honestly and truly inviting me in every single night we would return from our adventures (I finally enjoyed it the last evening we were in town).

And what to my wondering eyes should appear…but my very own Christmas tree in the corner!!!  I kid you not ~ it was like falling asleep on Christmas Eve every night I was there.

Come take a quick tour with me…..

This Isn’t The Only Themed Room / Suite

As noted above, there are several of these creatively designed rooms and suites spread throughout the three buildings that make up this old world Renaissance styled hotel.  Guests can request a room that takes them back to Camelot or allows them to feel presidential in the Oval Office.  I have friends who “sailed” in the Titanic Suite for a few days and another who “bathitated” in Clay Cooper’s Crib.  The murals on the walls are spot on and the theme of each room is so creative.  It truly makes for a memorable stay and a LOT to talk about when you return home.

What else makes this Hotel the perfect place to stay?

Oh, goodness ~ this could take awhile, but I’ll try to keep it as succinct as possible.  While I absolutely love the uniqueness of the rooms, there are honestly just so many reasons to call this place a home away from home.

Ultra-affordable

So, let’s talk about the price point!  I absolutely love the fact that this place is geared to accommodate the middle class family ~ yes, FAMILY!!  Whether you are looking for a standard room (double queen, single queen or king beds) or need a family suite to accommodate your crew, Stone Castle has the space and price to make you feel like THIS castle is your home.  If you are in need of a handicap accessible room – no worries!  There are ten rooms ready and waiting to accommodate you and your needs!

Now, when it comes to price, I could not believe I found nights on-line where you can get a standard two queen bed set-up for $89!  For our family of…well, four now that the college kid is gone most of the time, this is a perfect design and price for us.

Of course, I cannot tell a lie.  I truly and honestly loved having the bigger room all to myself.  No one with whom I had to share the bed, the jetted hot tub, the shower, the TV remote…..oops, getting a little carried away here.

So – yeah…we’re not talking just a bed and four walls.  Nope – we’re talking tons of amenities and benefits to make you feel like you are that much more at home.

Okay, T – what other amenities are we talking about here….

Each room is equipped with some fabulous comfort measures.  I am so in love with the pillow-top comfort beds and hypoallergenic pillows.  I could have slept in all day had we not had a ton of amazing opportunities awaiting us around Branson.

Each bathroom has standard toiletries (including shampoo/conditioner and lotion) and next to each bed is a working alarm clock.  The vanity sinks have a granite top and the beds have beautifully designed wooden headboards.

In case you were wondering….

If you are in need of de-wrinkling, you can find an iron and ironing board and, for when you need to dry your hair, there is a hair dryer waiting for you to use!

For those who just cannot make it out the door without that first sip of coffee, each room comes with a coffee maker and a serving or two of coffee.  If you only need that one sip, put your cup in the refrigerator and you can finish it later!  (I love me some cold coffee!!)

Let’s not forget the remote-controlled 32″ flat screen cable television with 68 channel choices!  This is just one way to unwind in your room after a fun day of exploring.

Oh – and for those who have to work while away, the hotel offers free Wi-Fi internet access!  Bonus!!! (such a blessing for those of us who had deadlines and posts to publish during the trip!)

Need a way to entertain the kiddos outside the room, but not away from the hotel?  Stone Castle has two pools (one in Building 2 and another in Building 3), as well as a game room sponsored by Track Family Fun Park.

Anyone in the mood for a Hot breakfast?

Oh, yes!  I can tell you this.  My middle son is all about the hot breakfast at a hotel.  It’s the highlight of his trip most times and this one will not disappoint.  At Stone Castle – it’s complimentary!!!  Yup – it’s already a part of your stay!!

All you have to do is wake up and walk in to the dining area to the fresh smell of sausage, biscuits, gravy, waffles and scrambled eggs!  Grab a plate and fill ‘er up!  There is also oatmeal, fruit and dry cereal off to the side if that’s what gets you going in the morning.

Need MORE coffee?  Don’t worry!  They’ve got you covered!  There are pots of hot java, along with a variety of juices to enjoy (drink that orange juice!!!).

Psst – Food allergy friends….just a quick note to say that I’m glad that the Stone Castle staff are aware of food allergies and have placed this disclaimer on the breakfast bar.  Because our son is allergic to eggs, peanuts and tree nuts, we always make sure to bring something for him to eat at breakfast (always be prepared).

Now Let’s Talk Location, Location, Location!

When it comes down to it, one of the best features of Stone Castle Hotel is its location!!  My family has personally stayed on the outskirts of town before, but Stone Castle is perfectly situated where you can get to the action within minutes.  Yet, you can escape from the traffic and craziness when ready to head back to the hotel and enjoy some peace and quiet.

Many people come to Branson to attend shows.  By staying at Stone Castle Hotel & Conference Center, you have close proximity to theaters such as:
  • Andy Williams Moon River Theater
  • Clay Cooper Theatre
  • Hughes Brothers Theatre
  • Branson’s Famous Baldknobbers
  • Million Dollar Quartet
If you’re hungry and looking for a place to eat, your stomach can easily find a direct route to:
  • Ruby Tuesday
  • Golden Corral
  • Applebee’s
  • Florentina’s
  • Fall Creek Steak House
  • Montana Mike’s
  • Pasghetti’s
Looking for more fun around Branson?  Check out these venues not too far from the hotel:
  • Tanger Factory Outlet
  • Branson Landing
  • Walmart
  • Silver Dollar City
  • Titanic Museum
  • Hollywood Wax Museum
  • The Track Family Fun Parks

Convinced Yet?

Well, if not…I have one more reason I love to share Stone Castle with everyone.

Point blank – the people!

Seriously, I have never met a more hospitable administration and staff than those at Stone Castle Hotel & Conference Center.  I have had the privilege of getting to know the General Manager and one of the four owners of the establishment through these events and I have seen how they go out of their way to care for those who work there.  They are family to them.  In turn, the staff members give their best and their hearts to those who visit because they know how important it is for those traveling to be comfortable.  There are smiles on faces, warm greetings as you enter the lobby.  I love walking out of my room, coming across someone working in housekeeping, saying good morning and seeing how much they genuinely love their job.  It’s that evident.

So – the people who work there.  They are just another great reason to make Stone Castle Hotel & Conference Center your home away from home.

***************************************************

I’m not done traveling to and from Branson and I look forward to many future trips and stays at this family-friendly venue.  As they prep for the upcoming year and all the guests they will entertain, Stone Castle Hotel & Conference Center has you in mind and would love the opportunity to treat you and your family ~ or even your group ~ like royalty.  It’s not too early to start planning next year’s holiday travel either!  Be sure to check them out and find a room or suite that intrigues you!!  Psst – The Andy Williams Christmas Extravaganza Suite is a festive choice  (wink, wink)!
