Spiderman: Far From Home Coming To Digital, Blu-Ray, DVD

September 4, 2019 By Tina Leave a Comment

The biggest Spider-Man movie EVER may still be in theaters, but it swings onto Digital, Blu-ray and DVD in just a few short weeks.  I mean, my boys (and I’m talking ALL my boys) are already getting excited!  This was ONE of their favorite movies of the year and hearing that Spider-Man: Far From Home will be out on DVD in the near future has them swinging from the rafters!

I work in partnership with TeamClick, who provides me with information that I love to share with you.  This is an informational post, but any opinions expressed are mine and mine alone.  This post does contain affiliate links.  Please see my Disclosure policy for more information.

Spider-Man: Far From Home Swings Onto Digital, Blu-ray and more!

It’s just about time to add another blockbuster hit to our ever-growing collections of at-home movies!  Spider-Man: Far From Home will be available on Digital September 17th or you can hold out a little longer when it arrives in a 4K Ultra HD™ Combo Pack, Blu-Ray™ Combo Pack and on DVD October 1st.
Tom Holland is Peter Parker, in Columbia Pictures' SPIDER-MAN:™ FAR FROM HOME.

Of course, no at-home collection would be complete without its special features.  Right?  The soon-to-arrive billion-dollar blockbuster from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment includes an original short, never-before-seen alternate and extended scenes, and so much more!

The Spider-Man: Far From Home Story Itself

The movie’s story-line has Tom Holland returning as everyone’s favorite web-slinger.   In this next chapter following Spider-Man: Homecoming, we watch our friendly neighborhood wall-crawler join his best friends Ned and MJ, as well as the rest of the gang, on a European vacation.  The plan had been to leave his super hero persona behind.  However, no plan survives implementation in the world of super heroism.  While on his adventure, Peter begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) uncover the mystery of several unexpected elemental creature attacks!  Spider-Man ends up joining forces with Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) to fight the havoc unleashed across the continent.  However, all is not as it seems (I mean, you knew that was going to happen, right?).

So, Let’s Talk BONUS FEATURES!!

The Blu-ray, DVD, Digital and 4K Ultra HD releases will be filled with tons of extras for the entire family.  Enjoy a special short, alternate and extended scenes, gag reels and, of course, Easter Eggs!  Additional special features include Teachers’ Travel Tips with Mr. Harrington and Mr. Dell and interviews with the cast and crew, which will focus on stunts and location in The Jump Off and Far, FAR, From Home.

Each release will also explore how Spider-Man was introduced in the MCU in Stepping Up, as well as take a closer look at the special chemistry between Jon Watts and Tom Holland in It Takes Two.
Of course, fans will want to dive into The Ginter-Riva Effect, Thank You, Mrs. Parker and Now You See Me features for more character focused details (I LOVE THESE KINDS OF DETAILS!!) .  As if THAT was not enough…the 4K Ultra HD will also feature Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos audio.
************************************************
SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME has a run time of approximately 129 minutes and is rated PG-13 for sci-fi action violence, some language and brief suggestive comments.

Okay – so let’s run down those Bonus Materials one more time in list-form and with a little more detail:
  • New Original Short, Peter’s To – Do – List: Peter has a few errands to run before he can leave on his class trip.
  • Teachers’ Travel Tips: Mr. Harrington & Mr. Dell present a few tips on how to traverse the European continent.
  • Stepping Up: Explore how Spider-Man was introduced in the MCU, the ways Tom Holland transformed the character of Peter Parker and what the future holds for Spider-Man (yikes….we are all on pins and needles regarding THIS!!).
  • Suit Up: The suit doesn’t make the hero – but it does play a big role in who they are and whom they can become. This piece examines all of Peter’s different suits in the movie and, with behind the scenes footage, we see why some suits are better than others.
  • Far, FAR, Far from Home: The film’s illustrious locations serve story points and establish tone.  However, they are also amazing travel destinations!  Hear from the cast on their experiences filming on-location.
  • It Takes Two: A special look at the chemistry between Jon Watts and Tom Holland.
  • Fury & Hill: MCU stalwarts Cobie Smulders and Samuel L. Jackson are back as Agent Maria Hill & Nick Fury (or are they???)!
  • The Ginter-Riva Effect: A look at the villain sub-plot and how William Ginter-Riva ties Spider-Man: Far From Home all the way back to the beginning of the MCU.

But wait!!  There’s more!!
  • Thank You, Mrs. Parker: A look at Marisa Tomei’s reimagining of Aunt May ~ from Homecoming to Far From Home.
  • The Brother’s Trust: A quick look into some of the amazing work Tom Holland and his brothers have done through their charity, The Brothers Trust.  (Seriously?  As if I couldn’t love this kid any more?).
  • The Jump Off: Interviews with the cast & crew take us through all of the amazing stunts of Far From Home.
  • Now You See Me: We examine the evolution of Mysterio and why Jake Gyllenhaal was the perfect fit for the role (THIS would be fascinating to see).
