Okay – it’s here. Fans all over the world have been waiting for this moment. Yes! Sonic the Hedgehog has returned ~ redesigned and ready to save the planet! The first trailer and poster since the redesign have just been released and the news is catching like wildfire!

The New Sonic Trailer – New and Improved
Fans raised their voices when the Sonic movie was originally announced and the image of the main character released. Nobody was fond of the uncharacteristic design and they let opinions be known. Fortunately, their cries were heard loud and clear and an update of their star character was put into motion.
After having gone back to the proverbial drawing board, the famous blue out-of-this-world hedgehog is finally complete and fans seem to be more impressed with how their favorite blue hedgehog looks now.
Our initial impression…
While I didn’t get the chance to really see the previous version of the animated character, I am pretty impressed with what I see racing across the screen now. I’ll be brushing up on my Sonic history, because my teen boys have already expressed an interest in seeing the movie when it’s released in February 2020.
I had the younger two of the three check out the trailer as soon as it dropped this morning and they both felt the visuals had improved and the overall tone of the movie seems enticing.
So, Who Is In The Movie?
Ben Schwartz, from Parks and Recreation fame, takes on the voice of Sonic. His human sidekick is portrayed by James Marsden, who is famous for donning the protective eye-wear in his well known role of Cyclops (X-Men movies). The villain is played by none other than iconic comic actor, Jim Carrey.
As Jim Carrey has been out of the picture awhile, it will be interesting to see him back in action, this time as the villain. His sinister look has me intrigued and I do see his personality already peering through the trailer in his role of Dr. Robotnik.
