Yup! What you’re about to read is completely subjective and absolutely 110% the opinions of our personal taste buds. Nonetheless, Hubby and I had a blast during our “day-date” to taste some of the Magic Kingdom fall treats. What did we think? Well, that’s easy to find out. Just keep scrolling and you’ll see what we found, what we tried and what we thought about each of them!

Exploring Magic Kingdom in the Fall
No doubt this year has brought changes to the fall schedule over at Walt Disney World and it has taken some adjusting for everybody. In particular, Magic Kingdom saw the cancellation of the two biggest parties they host each year ~ one of them being Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Nonetheless, in true Disney fashion, the creative-powers-that-be still found a way to inject some seasonal goodness into the daily routine.

The Villains can be found marching in mini-cavalcades. Mickey and his friends are still dressing up to say “Boo to You!” The autumn wreaths continue to hang from the light posts up and down Main Street U.S.A. Halloween merchandise is, of course, lining the shelves and, last but not least, the seasonal treats are tempting every sweet tooth walking around the park. Hubby and I determined to try as many as we could during our visit together. The question is ~ did we agree on all the offerings? Which one did Hubby like more and which one was my favorite?
Let’s start with…
Poor Unfortunate Souls Float

Okay, so I’ll be upfront and let you know that a friend of mine had already warned me that I may not like this as much as I had hoped. In fact, I actually expected a more potent flavor combination with the cream cheese soft-serve, black raspberry syrup and Coke. It was good, and it’s not that I didn’t like it. For some reason, it just looked a little different than the picture shown at the window and lacked the “wow” factor for us. It certainly had flavor, but we’re just not sure it tasted like cream cheese and, to be honest, we couldn’t identify the black raspberry in it.
Nonetheless, it was a full-sized sweet treat PACKED with purple ice cream (it actually had more of a Dole Whip consistency) and Coke. On top of the purple swirled soft-serve was a candy crown. Just be careful ~ that crown is tougher to eat than she looks.
Hubby and I agreed on this one and both gave it a 3 out of 5

Constance’s For Better or For Worse Wedding Cake
Our thoughts on this one actually differed greatly, much like you would find in any marriage, I suppose. No worries – it wasn’t worth separating over this one. The cake itself was more dense than expected, but it had a nice, mild citrus flavor. We could taste a hint of the raspberry in the Bavarian cream frosting, but this was the part I did not like at all. The frosting was more gelatinous than creamy and just didn’t appeal to me in the least. Hubby was all about it, though. He thought it was great. The flowers were a whipped cream and the axe perfectly situated at the top of the miniature cake was chocolate. That was a plus ~ we both liked the chocolate axe (wish there have been more of it to share!).

Hubby really enjoyed this selection and ended up finishing off what I could not. While in the socially distant line to the register, we had met another couple already seated doing what we were doing that day, so we asked their thoughts. They both enjoyed the cake, but only felt it was worth the price if the goal of your visit was to try all the fall snacks.
I guess it was worth it then..at least for one of us.
Hubby actually gave this fall treat a 4, while I gave it a whopping 2.

Hades Nachos
This option from the Underworld was HOT! However, it wasn’t so hot I had to pass on it. We mobile-ordered Hades Nachos as a lunch to share over at Pecos Bill’s Tall Tale Inn & Café. It ended up being the perfect size – especially since we knew we’d be sharing all these other plates. The black bean chips were topped with “fiery” buffalo chicken (pretty much chicken smothered in buffalo wing sauce). The lettuce and tomato were served together on the side, along with individual servings of sour cream, salsa and jalapenos. It was actually perfect. Hubby likes the salsa and jalapenos and I desperately needed that sour cream!!

Don’t get me wrong ~ yes, it was hot and has the potential to wreak havoc on anyone’s digestive tract, but the dish was extremely good and quite satisfying! In fact, Hubby probably wouldn’t confess this, but we had a tough time making sure that we were splitting it evenly. The combination of all those flavors were on fire. However, even though we both enjoyed it, Hubby’s thoughts on it were a little less than mine (he had other favorites). I honestly could have had more!
Hubby gave it a 3.5, while I gave it a solid 4.

Pumpkin Spice Milkshake
Confession ~ we gave this one a try during a previous trip to Magic Kingdom. Being autumn and all, we could NOT pass up the idea of trying the Pumpkin Spice Milkshake over at Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies. This ~ was ~ delicious!!! It was THE perfect autumn drink because it was orange and had tons of pumpkin flavor in there. I will say this, though, I’m REALLY glad we shared it because this is definitely on the sweet side and may be too much for one person in that regard. However, it was a win for me.

The Mickey marshmallow was also a nice touch because it was fresh, large and…well, orange! My only gripe was that the marshmallow was literally stuck to the straw, which make it a little messy to rip off and share. It was absolutely delicious, though.
Again, this is a drink to share and we’re glad we did. To be honest, we actually had dining reservations a short time after, so this was not something we wanted to fill us up. It definitely had the potential to do so.
Hubby gave it a 3.5, while I gave it a 4.5.

The Not So Poison Apple Cupcake
Okay – here we go. You know how there are just certain things that will draw you back and make you want to buy it again? Yeah – THIS was one of them! This cupcake was DA BOMB! No, seriously ~ it was moist, full of flavor, sweet, and yet could be eaten for breakfast (maybe, if you’re into that kind of thing. I mean, it is Disney). The red and white you see in this picture are PURE frosting. That there layer of sugar is THICK! So much sweetness! The very thin “stem” is chocolate, so you can eat that, too (I actually thought it may have been licorice, but I’m so glad Disney did not do that to us!). The cupcake itself is spiced apple and there were nuts inside, so beware if you have an allergy (our son has a life-threatening food allergy to nuts). You can’t see them, but they are in there.

The red pieces you see hanging off the edges of the cupcake are actually hard sugar candies ~ almost like the type you could get with a candy apple. They were a sweet addition.
The theming on this treat is wickedly spot-on. It looks soooo goooood and is impossible to resist!
Hubby gave this one a…..wait for it…..yes, you’re going to read this right….a 5.5!!! I can’t argue too much with that, except I’m a realist and like to stick within the set parameters. I gave it a perfect score of 5.

What I wish I had tried….and still may…(if there’s time)
We made our way around the Kingdom and tried as many treats as our appetites could tolerate. In the end, though, we had to put a few treats on hold with the hope that we get another chance before the season is over. For instance,
- The Mickey Cinnamon Roll at Starbucks (doesn’t this look ah-mazing??)

- The cinnamon donuts at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & café
- The idea of these make me miss New England big time. This also comes in an upgraded version where the donuts are served in a Hitchhiking Ghosts Novelty container. So you get to choose how you want your donuts.
- Pumpkin Spice Waffle Sundae at Sleepy Hollow
- We actually have tried a version of this in the past. It was yummy!!!
- Mickey Monster Mash Burger at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café (the Muenster cheese and sriracha aioli are ~ no joke ~ calling to me!)
Sadly, Sunshine Tree Terrace was out of the Headless Horseman straws…so we had to pass on the Headless Horseman Rides Again beverage. However, my friend Tania from LolaLambChops.com gave this a try during her last visit to the park. Check out what she had to say about it (and other goodies) here.
Other offerings you may like, but I’m not running back to try…
- Pumpkin Spice Soft-Serve Sundae over at Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies
- Orange and Black Churros
And don’t forget to stop by The Confectionary on Main Street U.S.A.!! There are REALLY tasty treats waiting for Guests there, as well!! Check out these yummy options!
HOWEVER ~ I really, really, really, really wanted to get the Pumpkin Mickey-shaped popcorn container, one of the novelty popcorn buckets or Halloween-themed sippers found at at any of the popcorn cart locations! To this date, I have not been able to convince Hubby that it’s worth it (cue very long, dramatic sigh)

So talk to me!

What do you think? Which of the above treats strikes your fancy, activates your sweet tooth, and makes you miss Magic Kingdom in the fall even more? If this post made you cry a little, please forgive me ~ that wasn’t my intent. I know many of you had to cancel plans this year. 2020 has been difficult for everybody and traveling outside our comfort zones has not been high on everybody’s priority list right now. If anything, though, I do hope this post inspires you to look forward to your next trip to visit Mickey. Trust me ~ the magic is still there and waiting for you and your family to return!

Oh my yum! I miss Disney so much!
Hi, Cindy!!! The magic will be here waiting for you to return ~ when you’re ready and able, of course!!
Now I’m really curious to try the “Poor Unfortunate Souls” float for myself! This was a mouth-watering post to read…and tempting when you’re hungry!
I should have put a warning label at the beginning of the post – lol!!! It is definitely packed with enough to trigger hunger pains. Thanks for taking the time to give it a read. Yes, the float was good, but not what I expected. Definitely not a favorite over here. However, it may very well be something someone else finds perfectly scrumptious. 😉💜
All of the food looks so delicious!
LOL – right? Did you see one that you wish you had in hand right this moment?
Thanks for those reviews! That Pumpkin Milkshake sounds perfect!! So does that cinnamon roll- too bad you didnt get one!
Right? I’m kicking myself a little ~ should have picked that up right as we were walking down Main Street U.S.A.
My 14-year-old is counting the days til we can get back to Disney. This makes me want to go NOW!! All of those yummy treats look delicious!!
The magic is right here waiting for you guys to return!!! It may be a little different, but it’s still magical. I hope you get to visit soon!
If you have kids of a certain age or are a fan of Disney this seems like the perfect time to go. You beat crowds and the food is really delicious.
They are saying crowds are staying at about 25% of capacity for the time being, but they definitely seem to be increasing (perhaps they just weren’t at 25% before). Either way, Disney is definitely doing a fantastic job at ensuring that safety protocols are in place. We are local and annual passholders, so we have been quite a bit since they reopened. to this point, we have felt tremendously safe at all four parks. We have to do our part, of course, but you’re right ~ it is a great time to if you can!
These all look really good. It’s nice to hear about what a person thinks about them, though. It helps you decide if you really want it.
I always liked reading posts where people give their honest opinions about a product, food or a service. I’m glad you enjoyed the read!
We were just looking at how affordable tickets to Disney are right now. My family may have to drive up for a weekend sometime soon. Those fall treats look awesome. I really want to try the Mickey cinnamon roll that you didn’t get a chance to try!
If you do, you’ll have to let me know what you think 😉. It does look good, doesn’t it?
Yum! I would love to go there soon. I want to take my grandkids there but we’re waiting a little while yet.
Completely understandable, especially with littles. Disney is doing a great job at ensuring safety precautions are in place, but it’s important that the Guests feel safe enough traveling and the like. The magic is here waiting for you when you’re ready to return ~ in the meantime, thanks for the read!!
So many delicious treats. I want to try them all as they all look so good.
My husband I are planning an anniversary trip next fall to Disney…can’t wait to try some of this fall food!
It’s a fantastic time of year to visit (though anytime is, really – lol). Hopefully the Epcot Food & Wine Festival will be back in full swing and you’ll have that to enjoy right alongside the autumn treats at Magic Kingdom. PS – Happy anniversary whenever it is this year!!
What a fun day! It’s so fun when we get the chance to be kids for a bit.
I absolutely agree!!! There’s just something magical about that place ~ makes me smile every time I visit.
I love love love this post! My favorite part of going to Disney is eating!
I love, love, love that you love it – lol!!!! There are so many delicious and yummy goodies to enjoy at the parks and the different seasons bring out some of the best! I was so glad we were able to venture over to give most of them a taste and then share a little bit with all of you!
I miss Disney!! Thank you for outlining these fall treats. Fall is my favorite season and while I love visiting Disney in general, I especially love it in the fall.
Right? There’s something magical that happens when they change the decor and the orange wreaths line Main Street U.S.A. It is a very special time of the year to visit (though I confess that my favorite time is Christmas – hee, hee). I hope you get to visit again soon!!
I’d definitely go for the Hades Nachos. Super spicy foods are my weakness. Thanks for this fun post!
Oh gosh! I’ve always wanted to go to Disney in the fall, and your list of yummies just makes me want it even more!
This makes me miss Disney so much! Every time we go, we have to get multiple treats. These all look so delicious.
Wow those nachos look amazing! I had no idea that Disney came out with different treats for the season – now I’m really hungry for a visit to the Magic Kingdom. I hope to read more about what other seasons have as well.
Absolutely!!! The holiday season kicks in around November 6th this year and I hope to head that way within the first week or so to check out what they have. Stay tuned 😉! PS – yes, those nachos WERE amazing. Oh, my goodness. They were hot and spicy, but worth every flaming bite!!
Those nachos are perfect for a quick treat around Magic Kingdom. Worth checking it out next time we go.
Oh, my gosh – the nachos were exactly what we needed at that moment. A definite must try if you get to visit the parks this month.
I can’t wait to visit Disney again. It’s still closed here in So Cal. But they have the best treats! I hadn’t seen the ones you posted yet! They are so fun for Halloween!
My heart breaks for all of you California Disney fans!!! We are ALL hoping it opens back up for you guys (and the world!) soon!!
Thank you so much for this honest review! We’re planning to visit this Halloween! My kids couldn’t wait!
Oh, fun!!! I can only imagine how excited you all are. Be sure to keep an eye out for those mini calvacades ~ they are just one float long, but they run more often than the normal longer parades did. Safe travels and enjoy your trip!!
Wow! That is a lot sweet stuff. It looks like a fun day though!
The peanut butter sandwich will always be my favorite Disney bakery treat…even after they stopped making them years ago! This year we are really missing Disneyland because we used to visit often during this time of year.
Honestly, my heart breaks for all of you who typically frequent Disneyland 💔. We are all hoping things improve soon and that the gates open so everyone can enjoy the magic on the West Coast, too. I never knew that the bakery had peanut butter sandwiches, but that wouldn’t be one of our go-to snacks because our youngest has peanut allergies (or at least not when he was with us). Pretty sure they still have PB&Js at some restaurants, though. 😉
Now that’s a special taste test! Only in Disney 🙂
LOL! It was a lot of fun to go in search of these treats throughout the park. Can’t wait to do it for the Christmas holidays!
I never thought of Disney in the fall. But now I really want to go!!!
Yvette, it’s so exciting when the park transforms into an autumn scene. Definitely a must do if you’re a Disney fan.
Wow! Everything looks so delicious and very tasty. My choices are the “Hades Nachos” and “Pumpkin Milkshake”, its an easy crowd favorite I may say. Thanks for sharing this to us, it’s making me hungry.
Those are two perfect choices, Gervin! They were a few of my favorites.
So many yummy fall Disney treats!! They look so good! I love the names for a lot of them super creative! I’ll have to check some out if I’m ever in Disney during the fall season.
Tina,
You’ve collected some of the most colorful desserts! I really like taking a tour along the lines of this blog post.
Aww – Thank you!!! Disney does a great job creating attractive and colorful treats. They tend to photograph well naturally.
I want to get there for the Fall Celebrations with my kids! All of the food looks amazing! I always wondered if it was “all about presentation” rather then taste. Thank you for making me drool on my keyboard. Everything looks wonderful!
LOL – I hope your keyboard was able to absorb the drool! I love that illustration. There are always going to be some options that end up disappointing, but, for the most part, Disney does an amazing job at creating treats that are both visually appealing and delicious. I hope you get the chance to visit during the autumn season some day!!
They all look so yummy, but I think my favorite is the pumpkin milkshake with mickey marshmallows! I am into marshmallows, so this will be good for me.
Thanks for the heads up about the float, but still it looks great, maybe I will try it for it’s sake.
How interesting and who knew about the season treats? I’m not up on all things disney!
I love the attention Disney gives to everything, even their snacks! It all connects to characters and movies and stories and I love it.
We have never visited Disney, but after this great post, we may need to!
The food looks absolutely amazing! I love fall inspired food!
I’m with you! The Not-So-Poison Cupcake was absolutely my hands-down favorite. It was so amazing, I still think about it now, and we have been home over a month. I have scoured the internet for some way to make this at home to satisfy my cravings, but alas, no luck. I guess we will just have to go back next fall! Ours DID have a licorice stem on the top though, oddly.
Oh, wow! You had a licorice stem? That’s crazy! LOL. Well, I’m glad you enjoyed the cupcake during your trip and if you EVER find a recipe for this, let me know!! If the Disney Parks Blog posts it, I’ll be sure to share it on my Facebook page or my attempt at the recipe myself here on the blog. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of fall. The holidays are approaching quickly.
