Teaser Trailer and New Poster Image Released for Live-Action Mulan

July 8, 2019 By Tina 3 Comments

I’m going to humbly confess here and now that it took me years to see the Disney animated movie, Mulan.  For some reason, it was just not on my priority list when it came out.  However, once I finally sat down and watched the film with my boys when they were younger, I was captivated and intrigued by the drive, passion and perseverance this one woman had for her country and her family.  She represented strength and courage for women everywhere and showed us all that standing up for what we believe in matters.  Now that Disney is bringing the animated classic to the big screen in live-action form, I vow to not wait long to see how this all plays out.   Until then, we can all enjoy the brand new poster and a sneak peek at the teaser trailer for Disney’s Live Action Mulan, which was just released.

When the Emperor of China issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Army to defend the country from Northern invaders, Hua Mulan, the eldest daughter of an honored warrior, steps in to take the place of her ailing father.

Masquerading as a man (Hua Jun), Hua Mulan is tested every step of the way and must harness her inner-strength and embrace her true potential.  It is an epic journey that will transform her into an honored warrior and earn her the respect of a grateful nation…and a proud father.

“Mulan” features a celebrated international cast that includes such talent as Yifei Liu as Mulan, Donnie Yen as Commander Tung, Jason Scott Lee as Böri Khan and Yoson An as Cheng Honghui.  Gong Li will be playing Xianniang and Jet Li is taking on the role of the Emperor.  The film’s director is Niki Caro and the screenplay is by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver and Elizabeth Martin & Lauren Hynek.  It story is based on the narrative poem, “The Ballad of Mulan.”

The epic tale of a fearless young woman who risks everything out of love for her family and her country to become one of the greatest warriors China has ever known, opens in U.S. theaters on March 27, 2020.

Did you enjoy the animated classic?  Are you looking forward to seeing this story-line played out as a live-action film?  I personally find the trailer enticing ~ it’s a teaser that will draw you in with action and intrigue.

I haven’t ever truly watched the animated movie. I tried to watched it this winter but was multitasking and didn’t really take in the movie. I have enjoyed the Mulan character is Disney’s Once Upon A Time tv series, which makes me interested in seeing the live action movie. This wasn’t on my radar at all so thanks for sharing and keeping us up to date!

Oh, ya know ~ I didn’t even think about the character in Once Upon A Time. We lost interest in the show after awhile, but I do remember watching during that phase. She was a good character! It will be interesting to see where the movie takes us.
