So, here I am for the second summer staring at my empty lanai. How do I sincerely dress up this outdoor living area? I mean, we have a table and two chairs, but nothing in there to spice it up or say “hey, we’ve finally settled in!” Hubby and I have talked about various decorative additions, but we can’t seem to decide on the definitives. Of course, with two teenage boys STILL in the house, I know what would REALLY make this room pop for us ~ something that we can gather around and watch with a bowl of popcorn in our hands. I mean, who wouldn’t love an all weather television out in their lanai? Right? Well, THAT sparked some interest from the crew, so I began to do some research. I was on a mission ~ a quest, if you will ~ to find a television that would be able to weather the storms we have here in Central Florida.

DRESS UP THE OUTDOOR LIVING AREA
It’s no secret, summer is pretty much here and it’s time to start dressing up the yards and back porches before inviting friends over for barbecues, game night and fire pit chats. So, why not add a little more pizzazz to the outdoor living space and make it like you’re inviting everyone over for a “drive-in” movie ~ just without the driving?
Give me a second…..I’ll explain.
You invite your friends over for some summer grub and a drink. You chat the day away ~ maybe even while watching a baseball game on a beautiful all weather television you had installed in your lanai. The conversation goes on and on ~ sooooo much laughter. You suddenly realize it’s getting darker outside, but you don’t want to end the evening. Great friends and good times are a treasure to cherish these days.
So – why not cook up some s’mores or pop some popcorn and lounge in front of the said all-weather television to watch a fun movie while the crickets chirp outside the screened-in porch?
Sound like fun? Does to me! I’m sold!
Well, all the research I did paid off and I found exactly what would fit! I found the Sunbrite Veranda TV ~ a weatherproof television designed for a fully shaded outdoor living area, like covered patios and screened-in porches!
Perfect! We have one of those!

This is gorgeous!!! I would love to sit there at night and enjoy the evening.
That is amazing!
Outdoor TVs? Who knew? Very cool!
OMG, I want a patio like that! An outdoor TV I think would make me a little nervous, but everything else is perfect!
oh wow that patio looks dreamy!!! i will be right over!!!
An outdoor TV has been on our wish list for years now -sad but true. I think 2020 will be our year to do it – saving pennies! Great yard you have.
Wow, it looks really nice! Great job!
Oh my goodness your outdoor area is beautiful!!! I would never leave, TV or not!!
Lol! It’s not actually ours, but one we would love to replicate!! 😉. It is gorgeous, isn’t it?
I would love a huge, gorgeous outdoor space! Add that to my husband’s Honey-Do List!!
Great post! Now I really want a lanai or veranda of my own. (I hear that lanais are great places to share cheesecake with some friends, whether they are from Miami or Saint Olaf, Minnesota.) 🙂
I always wondered how some homes and restaurants had TVs that tolerated weather. An outdoor TV. Duh! So cool. Your lanai looks amazing!
Oh, I wish this was my lanai! Lol!! This is what I aspire my lanai to look like, tho 😉. Isn’t it beautiful?
What a beautiful outdoor space you have created! As soon as we move somewhere warm all year round I will totally make a space like this! Thanks for sharing.
Oh, I wish this was ours!!! This is just the dream of what we would like to see in our outdoor living space. The conversation is ongoing and the pictures are on our vision boards 😉.
Love outdoor home spaces! We actually need to redo ours so this gives me great tips!
Looks like a beautiful place to relax!
Someday I dream of having an outdoor space like this!!
So inviting! It begs for someone to come, sit & stay a while!
Love the idea of this! I love a good outdoor living space
I would love to convert my patio/deck into an outdoor living space that I want to be in. I tried to get “outdoor furniture” but then it didn’t really hold up outdoors. (?????) Maybe I will try again at some point! I think I would need to add a cover of some sort – a pergola maybe? That way, it would serve as some protection from the heat, sun and rain.
I love the look of your Patio. It’s beautiful. I love the warm colors. And yes, the TV is amazing!
This is my dream backyard. Truthfully, I am just working on repairing snow holes in my grass this summer…but maybe someday! 🙂
Oh, my! That’s beautiful! I’m jealous!
What a beautiful outdoor area! Wish mine was someone enclosed – we are much more exposed to the elements!
We love being out on our deck at night, and the hubs wants so badly to enclose it! This would be perfect!
How cool! It’s like a living room OUTSIDE!
I needed ideas to dress up my drab outdoor space. Thank you so much for sharing! This looks beautiful.
This is awesome. We don’t have tv but we enjoy a weekly movie. What we have done for our patio, the barn and our living room, is we have put up a huge projector and big screen. It’s nice to watch a movie outside in the summer with popcorn. This tv would be good for us if we had smaller spaces.
What a great set up! I love outdoor living!
Beautiful spot, it’s exciting to update and freshen spaces! My ideal would be similar to this but with a killer outdoor kitchen, huge smoker, table for at least 12 and a view of the mountains! Love this, thanks so much for sharing! 🙂
Love the suggestions! We just redid our backyard and being out back is the best!
Beautiful!!! We eat dinner out on our lanai every evening.
How fun! I’d love an outdoor tv. It’s great to know they are designed for protection from the elements.
Looks awesome!! Our last house had a pretty neat outdoor living area with a mount for a TV, but we never did end up putting one up. :/
What a fun idea! And what gorgeous pictures of covered porches! My goodness, I’d be out there all the time!
We recently decided not to purchase an RV because it did not have an outdoor television. The idea of relaxing outside in the evening air and watching a movie or something seems quite relaxing. Thank you for sharing a bit more education about outdoor televisions. I learned something!
