Dr. Phillips Center Announces 2019-2020 Fairwinds Broadway Series in Orlando

February 20, 2019 By Tina 33 Comments

Oh, this is an exciting announcement to share!  Being a fan of all things theatrical, I have been anxiously awaiting the Dr. Phillips Center to reveal the list of shows that will be included in the 2019 / 2020 FAIRWINDS Broadway in Orlando series!  Guess what – the list is out!!!

Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts Announces 2019-2020 Broadway Series Line-Up

This past year has been amazing as some magnificent productions have graced the stage here in Orlando and across the country for the Broadway National Tour.  From White Christmas and Hello! Dolly! to Fiddler on the Roof and Hamilton, there were and will be some fabulous performances to see at the Dr. Phillips Center.  In fact, Dr. Phillips Center President and CEO Kathy Ramsberger says it has been their “biggest season yet!”

With the upcoming 2019 / 2020 season, why should expectations be any less than amazing?  Right?  Whether you’re in it for the genie of the lamp or to hear the distant drums, this upcoming theatrical season is certainly one to watch for tickets!  You’re going to want to reserve seats early!

**Related Post: Check out my review of Hello, Dolly!

So, what’s coming???

On February 14th, Dr. Phillips Center joined the Florida Theatrical Association and Broadway Across America to announce the full line-up.  This year’s roster includes:

  • Escape to Margaritaville: The Jimmy Buffett Musical— November 12–17, 2019
  • The Play That Goes Wrong — December 3–8, 2019
  • Disney’s ALADDIN — January 22–February 9, 2020 (premiere performance on Orlando stage)
  • Mean Girls — February 25–March 1, 2020 (premiere performance on Orlando stage)
  • Miss Saigon — March 31–April 5, 2020
  • A Bronx Tale — April 28–May 3, 2020
  • My Fair Lady — May 26–31, 2020

The season will also feature the return of the musical phenomenon Les Misérables, for one week only (October 22-27, 2019).

Which are you looking forward to seeing?

I’m pretty partial to Disney’s Aladdin and Les Miserables, but I’m curious to know what theatrical production you dream of seeing on stage?  Will you be in the Orlando area around any of the above dates or are you a local who has an affinity for theater?  Check out the Dr. Phillips Center website for more details on any or all of these productions.  Be sure to check out the other amazing things that happen over at the Performing Arts Center, as well.  There are a plethora of master classes, workshops, summer camps and more available and waiting for your participation!

*****************************************

**Current subscribers may renew their seats for the upcoming season beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2019.

Les Misérables will be presented as a Season Option and subscribers will have first access to purchase tickets once they have renewed their seats for the 2019 / 2020 season.

For those looking to purchase a new subscription for the 2019 / 2020 season, this opportunity has not yet been made available at this time.  Those interested may join Broadway in Orlando’s subscription notification list at orlandobroadway.com.   In April, those on the notification list will be among the first to be alerted when subscription seats become available.

For more information and to renew a subscription for the 2019–2020 season, visit OrlandoBroadway.com.

Group tickets:

If planning to attend one of the productions in groups of 10 or more, ticket requests can be made as of now for most shows in the new season (beginning February 15, 2019).   Group minimums and discounts will vary by show and seating locations for group orders may not be confirmed until later this year.

For more information, email [email protected] or call (407) 455-5550.

Tickets for individual shows in the 2019–2020 season will be made available at a later date.

Which Broadway productions will you be attending?

What a great line up! I don’t think I could choose so I would have to do a season pass! Les Mis is always a good choice, and My Fair Lady is a fav since I was a kid!
