Anyone who has been following my adventures over the last year knows that I am a huge fan of visiting Branson, Missouri. I love the people, the topography, the adventure, the shows and the food. But I’m curious to find out if I have inspired YOU ~ yes, YOU ~ to visit this neck of the woods? If so, read on to find out all about this amazing Branson getaway I have to offer!

I was the guest of Stone Castle Hotel & Conference Center. The prizes below were provided to me by the various sponsors and venues associated with the Blogging Branson event. However, all opinions are 110% mine and mine alone.  This post also contains affiliate links. Is Branson On Your Bucket List?
My 2018 adventures to the Midwest came in both the spring and autumn of the year. I experienced the advent of spring and the introduction of the busy Christmas season. Each time I visited, I encountered the same southern hospitality and kindness one would hope to see when visiting a town like Branson. They take the phrase, “God, Family, Country” very seriously and it is truly evident everywhere you go around town.
Whether with the Blogging Branson team or with my own family, I spent a great deal of time laughing until my sides hurt, singing until my voice cracked and dining until my buttons popped. Seriously – there are some good eats in Branson!!!  I learned a lot by visiting museums and faced a few of my own individual fears on attractions I swore I would never ride. And not once have I said to myself, “Okay, that’s it. Been there, done that.”  No, in fact, I’m already looking forward to going back!!
What about you? Have you been to Branson? If you have, what do you love about it? If not, well, let’s talk about what you would include in your itinerary if you were to plan a trip there! First, where to stay. We can then talk about what to do while there and, oh, my goodness ~ what to eat!

Finding a temporary “home” while visiting
It’s important, when traveling, to find a good “home away from home.” You want somewhere to rest your weary head after a long day of adventure and a place that feels like you can get a good night of sleep. Amenities are important and extras are a blessing. In Branson, I have had the opportunity to stay in two different locations between my three trips. However, one of them stands out head and shoulders above the other and has become my favorite place to stay in Branson.
Stone Castle Hotel & Conference Center
While there are various name brand hotels in the area, I hands-down prefer to stay at Stone Castle Hotel & Conference Center. Yes, they have sponsored me on two of the three trips I’ve taken there. However, they have genuinely won me over, people. I love the hot breakfasts (more biscuits and gravy please!!), themed rooms, two pools, gorgeous grounds, scenic views and proximity to all the action. Not only is the physical environment pleasant, but the people who work there are authentically hospitable. The only reason we didn’t stay there when the family traveled to the area was because they do not take pets (for service animals, I’d call the hotel). However, anytime we are not bringing our furbaby with us, Stone Castle is “home.” Pssst – the picture you see below is about to change! They are undergoing an amazing transformation and renovation prior to their reopening on March 1st, 2019!!

VIDEO: Check out the room I stayed in back in November!!! I could not have asked for a more perfect theme that time of year!!! Â

Finding the shows you want to see and experience
In case you weren’t aware, Branson is the Live Music Capital of the World and they take that title seriously! Each of my stays has been packed with musical talent ~ from hillbilly country and country rock to show tunes and Christmas carols.  Now, I was a music major in college ~ so, this just tickles me pink!!
Clay Cooper Country Express
Clay brings his country talent to the stage and off with his musical revue of some of the greats. Accompanied by his wife, two sons, Third Power, Matt Gumm and Kari Garrison, the entire team of talent entertains a few nights a week with toe-tapping tunes that keep the audience smiling. Clay and Matt both have quite the sense of humor and add a whole lot of side-splitting laughter to the program. Â

Branson’s Famous BaldknobbersÂ
This is THE original Branson show. Going into its 60th year of entertainment, the Mabe family brings the old country and mixes in the contemporary to bring you a show that will have your heart pounding along to the beat. Brandon and Megan, the dynamic Mabe duo dominating the stage, are joined by amazing vocal and instrumental talent, as well as the comedy routine of Hargus and Droopy Drawers, Jr. This is the third generation of Mabes carrying on this musical tradition and there doesn’t appear to be an end in sight for this cornerstone Branson group.

Hughes Music ShowÂ
While I love me some of the above two shows, I cannot get enough of THIS family. The Hughes brothers, their beautiful wives and their amazingly talented children bring all they have to the stage and mesmerize the audience with singing, dancing, instrumentals, comedy and love. Yes, I said love. This family is all about working together ~ on set, off set, in life. They serve and they give and they love to bring joy to people’s hearts. Every time I see them, I try as hard as I can to get as close to center front as possible because I don’t want to miss a beat. You will be astonished by the talent demonstrated and walk away having to literally pick your jaw up off the floor.

Believe it or not, the above is only a splattering of the entertainment options located within Branson’s city limits. We also took time to visit the Andy Williams’ Performing Arts Center back in November with Jimmy Osmond at the helm. Yakov Smirnoff even has a show in town and, like so many others, honors those who have served in the military. The list of talent goes on and on and on and…you get the picture.

Finding fun attractions to make forever memories
Of course, sitting in a seat and watching others perform on stage is not the only way to spend time in Branson. There are multiple venues around town where you can gather the family to make some fun memories.
Silver Dollar City Theme Park
This 1880s theme park brings you some of the latest and greatest when it comes to thrilling attractions. It has the tallest and one of the most unique roller coasters I have ever experienced personally and I would highly recommend taking a “spin” on the Time Traveler when you go. There are craftsman to watch, shows to enjoy, festivals to attend and caves to explore. Oh, yes!!! You can climb nearly 500 feet down into Marvel Cave as part of your admission!

Dolly Parton’s Stampede Dinner Attraction
Are you ready to Stampede???? This dinner show has one of my favorite combinations ~ food and excitement! While you’re feasting on a four course meal, you are being entertained by some of the best riders and performers around. You’re going to want to get there early for the pre-show and shop for a souvenir after the event. Of course, don’t forget to grab a picture with Skeeter on your way out either!

Tracks Family Fun Park / Branson Ferris Wheel
Some people are just looking for some good ol’ fashion go-karts and arcade games. That’s where Tracks Family Fun Park comes into play. With three active parks in town, Tracks has some of THE best go-kart racing tracks I have ever experienced. At Track 4, (Yes, Tracks 3, 4 and 5 are active), climb the high rise and fly down the slope to beat your racing companions! If that’s not your style, take a turn at the bumper cars or bumper boats (weather permitting) or pop in for some old fashioned carnival and arcade games. Of course, one of the most iconic landmarks in Branson resides on the property of Track 4 and I can’t get enough of this one. The Branson Ferris Wheel, previously located at Chicago’s Navy Pier, takes you high above the tree tops to see a gorgeous aerial view of the Ozarks.

Titanic Museum
This is anther one of my favorites. I never knew how much there was to learn about the historic event centered around the RMS Titanic. Explore artifacts, watch documentaries and dip your fingers into 28°F water to temporarily place yourselves in the shoes of those who lived that fateful voyage. Before taking the tour, receive a card that gives you the identity of an actual passenger and find out their fate once you reach the end of the voyage.

Showboat Branson Belle
This was a new one for me this past November, but definitely one I will do again!! Board a beautiful themed steamboat to enjoy a delicious meal while being entertained by more Branson talent. All the while, you will be sailing on Table Rock Lake while the sun sets (we had THE most picturesque scene!!).

Branson IMAX Entertainment Complex
Let’s say the weather is not conducive to hanging outside or you just want to do a one-stop-shop kind of a day. The Branson IMAX Entertainment Complex can satisfy all that – PLUS some! Inside this venue, there is a large handful of shops where you can find everything from beautifully designed clocks and leather jackets to unique Branson trinkets and t-shirts. If you’re up for a movie, there are several theaters, including a state-of-the-art IMAX screen, where you can catch the latest and greatest or an educational film. If a stage show is what you’re craving to see, there are several from which to choose. Of course, when your tummy starts to grumble, you can jump into McFarlain’s Family Restaurant to grab some good ol’ southern cooking.

Find some good eats to stay energized
Fall Creek Steak & Catfish House
Oh, my! Oh, my! I cannot say enough about this place. It truly activates all five senses and fills you up with good ol’ southern cooking. From the tossed rolls and the singing chef to the delicious country dishes and the nostalgic decor, Fall Creek is a must stop on your journey through Branson.

Florentina’s
Of course, if you are craving Italian, I have a few good ones to share, but this one has THE best Italian nachos EVER!!!! Florentina’s is a beautiful family restaurant that serves up authentic Italian cuisine. The decor gives you the feel of dining in Italy and the tastes will “wow” you.  I honestly could have dined on those nachos all night long. Â

McFarlain’s Family Restaurant
The Blutos are Branson royalty and they own two of the places I share on this list. McFarlain’s is a family venue located inside the Branson IMAX Entertainment Complex. It is well known for it’s fried green tomatoes and is home to the Rising Table Society. Now, I’m not going to go giving it all away in THIS post. You need to take a peek at my YouTube video below to find what this very “elite” group of guests can boast.

RELATED POST: Feeling at Home at McFarlain’s Family Restaurant
Pasghetti’s
You cannot miss this venue while you’re driving down HWY 76, aka “The Strip.” If you see the giant meatball and fork, you found it! Pasghetti’s is one of the Branson Best Restaurants, as is Fall Creek Steak & Catfish House, and is more than just a place to eat. It likes to call itself an attraction, as well, since it houses a small Ferris wheel INSIDE the establishment. The decor inside takes you back to New York in the 1920s and themed rooms make great places to enjoy a variety of sized events. Once you’re done chowing down on your 5 oz meatball, enjoy a game or two with the family upstairs or take a few pictures by the trolley car.

Montana Mike’s Steak House
This place is another owned by the Blutos’ and boasts the best steaks in town! Walk into this comfortable venue and sit there talking for hours as you feast on delicious plates of steak, chicken, fish or salads.

It’s been over 15 years since coming to Branson. We were there for a conference for my husbands work and stayed at a beautiful place right on the water it was a conference center. I’m not sure if it was the same place. We did go see the show that reflected The Beatles. We also met up with some dear friends at a shopping area that was down by the water and ate at a great Mexican restaurant.
I had honestly never heard much about Branson until all of your posts! It seems like such a cool place to visit! Between all the entertainment and the FOOD. Always looking for fun local places to eat when in a new place.
