Can you believe it? The time is almost here! Avengers: Infinity War hits the big screen in just less than a few…short…weeks!
The Anticipation
I cannot describe to you the intense and immense anticipation that is felt within this household. I may be living among three or four (depending upon the time of year) testosterone-driven beings, but, every time a trailer featuring one of the Avengers finds its way into the commercial cycle on our television, I swear my boys are going to pee their pants. In fact, I showed my husband the clip at the bottom of this piece and his eyes suddenly grew wet. The excitement leading up to the release of this film has been growing exponentially and even I can say I’m eager to get into my seat at the theater and watch how this all plays out.
Okay ~ confession. It doesn’t take much. I’ve always been an MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) fan.
Hooked, Mesmerized, Addicted
We have watched every single one of the MCU movies together since the series’ big screen inception. From the beginning, we have been hopelessly drawn into the continued action and drama. The brilliance behind this series captivates me and to see all these moving pieces come together is seriously keeping me on the edge of my seat.
Playing the Favorites Game
Within our own home, we are torn between favorite Avengers. We aren’t a Team Cap vs. Team Iron Man family. Nope. In fact, hubby is a fan of Dr. Strange, as am I (clears throat ~ I mean, it’s Benedict Cumberbatch with a goatee, people). I will say, though, that our oldest does admit to being a fan of Iron Man. For him, it’s all in that personality. Stark is a genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist ~ everything my college-age son aspires to be. The middle son is all about Hawkeye, while the youngest is a fan of Star-Lord (the “legendary outlaw”). Yeah – no Team Cap here…sorry, fans. Although, I do have to say that the strong, powerful women in this movie are some of my personal heroes!
What’s Drawing You In?
So, who is your favorite Avenger? What is it about this particular movie that is drawing you to the nearest theater, large popcorn and ginormous soda in hand? Once the movie has been released, I’ll put together my thoughts in a review and I hope you’ll take opportunity to check it out. I’m looking forward to sharing our family’s reactions, as well as hearing yours.
