During a recent mother / middle son trip to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, my son wanted to make one of my Disney wishes comes true. He wanted to help me cross something off my bucket list that was never an acceptable option when we go as a family (four guys and little ol’ me ~ a little too much testosterone for this meal!). Since it was just the two of us this time, my son wanted to give me my royal breakfast, an opportunity to eat in Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom. This trip was our birthday trip and he was going to be eating at his favorite restaurant one day during our adventure, so he wanted to make sure that I had something that was my own, as well, so I was granted the wish of making reservations for the Fairytale breakfast at Cinderella’s Royal Table!

Dining Like Royalty
This is a coveted breakfast not only among the younger royal Guests that visit the Kingdom, but for anyone who has dreamed of being a Princess, or even a Prince, at one point in life. The idea of eating in the middle of the iconic Castle just sends one into a frenzy of chills and giggles. They are entering into a realm that allows them to rub elbows with the famous Disney Princesses and to be treated like royalty for a period of time. Yes – I admit it. I experienced those chills and giggles, too, probably embarrassing my son to no end….but he endured it like the Prince that he is.
ROYAL TIDBIT OF INFO: When making reservations for this particular meal, payment is required upfront, so do not be surprised to see the charge on your credit card within minutes of making the reservation. If you have an active Tables in Wonderland card, simply let your server know when he/she greets you at your table and your credit card will be appropriately reimbursed. If you are using Disney Dining Plan Table Service credits, let your server know when seated (they usually ask) and the charge will return to your credit card. Please note that this a two table service credit reservation.
Our reservation was early enough to allow us into the Park before opening. This was also a bucket list item of mine – to enter the Park when I could snap some great photos without the obstruction of thousands upon thousands of other Guests doing the same thing. Though it was a little more crowded than I had anticipated, I was still able to breathe in the morning air and take a few pictures.

We arrived to our destination prior to our reservation time. However, we were immediately granted permission to enter the court to meet Cinderella herself. It was a ten minute wait to reach her in line, but we were able to see her interacting with others. She was as cordial as ever. Aaryn was still not quite ready for a photo shoot that early in the morning. He braved the session well, nonetheless, and even took up a small conversation with the Princess.
After immortalizing the moment, we climbed the spiral staircase to the dining room. It took a moment, but a cast member soon escorted us to our table in royal fashion. We nestled into our seats and our Royal Server, Don, quickly introduced himself. We could not have asked for a more genuine, friendly and welcoming server! He was conversational, interactive and made us feel so at home in our surroundings. Our pastry plate arrived quickly, we had drinks in front of us within minutes and Don took our order promptly. It helped that we already knew what we wanted, of course.

While Aaryn literally feasted on an entire pastry plate, minus one Mickey-shaped blueberry muffin and one strawberry that he allowed me to eat, the parade of Princesses commenced. Throughout the course of our meal, we enjoyed meeting with Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel and Jasmine. By the time we reached Jasmine, Aaryn was awake and posing well. In fact, he liked his picture with Jasmine so much he sent it to his older brother back home just to make him jealous!

Once breakfast had been served, the amazement continued! Our entrees were absolutely delectable! Aaryn had the Caramel Apple Stuffed French Toast. He honestly could not have asked for any more sweetness to start his day! He enjoyed every last morsel of that meal and could have had seconds! I chose the Beef Tenderloin and Egg and I could not have made a better choice for myself! The tenderloin was cooked to perfection and as requested and the egg was a welcomed treat (egg is not a common food eaten in our home because of our youngest son’s life-threatening allergy to it). I savored every bite of my breakfast and felt like we had eaten like royalty. The day could not have started off any better!

To top off the meal, Don made sure he recognized our birthdays. To celebrate, he delivered two tiny little cupcakes with a candle in each for us to blow out. He also personally serenaded us with “Happy Birthday.” It made us both smile from ear to ear. I mean, cupcakes for breakfast! How can one NOT smile?

From this magical experience, I wish I could have changed one little thing; however, I’m not sure how I would do it. I feared our meals getting cold as the Princesses were arriving every two minutes. It felt like a non-stop up and down, up and down. Most of the Princesses were personable and interacted well. However, there were a few that seemed to brush us off simply because Aaryn is a 13 year old. He is also almost a half foot taller than his mother and we had no “littles” to entertain or sparkle around them. I had also forgotten our fancy autograph book, so we lost that aspect of the experience, as well.
Nonetheless, though I wish the experience was more fluid, I still wouldn’t trade it for the world. My son willingly and willfully took his mother to a Castle for a royal breakfast and let her feel like a Princess for a time. We walked away with our sword and wand in hand and a memory we will cherish for a lifetime.

It has been several years since we last went to dinner in the Castle. We have never gone to breakfast and it looks super yummy. I think that if my daughter and I ever do a mommy/daughter trip we will have to try it with no boys.
It was great meeting you and your son! Tell him I expect a blog post soon!
Hi, Patty!! The pleasure was all ours! We loved meeting your family and enjoying a Dole Whip together! Cinderella’s Royal Table would be great as a mother / daughter breakfast! We hope to try dinner at some point, but breakfast truly was amazing! Aaryn is working hard in his Flower & Garden festival post and we hope to publish that within the week! I’ll let him know you are looking for it! Keep an eye out!! Thanks again, Patty! ~ T
Breakfast is absolutely the way to go here- fantasic experience, far better food, cheaper pricing. Magical indeed!
I have never done this before and now, really really want to. Sounds like you both had a magical time. Thanks for sharing!
My pleasure, Cindy! It really is a very special meal, an unforgettable memory and a great Disney bucket list item. I hope you can cross this off your list in the near future!! Thanks for reading!!!!
We’ll have to consider this for our next trip. I like the idea of doing breakfast, plus the bonus of getting into the Magic Kingdom early! Great post – Thanks for sharing!
Krista, be on the lookout! There is news that they are changing the welcome show and bringing it inside the Hub near Cinderella Castle. I don’t know how that will affect breakfast rezzies for Guests, but that’s just so you know there are changes coming. Even with that, we really enjoyed our breakfast here and hope you have opportunity to do so, too!!
We’ve never eaten there, but we aren’t so much into character meet and greets. Food looks delicious, though!
The food was totally worth it for us….meeting the Princesses was just “icing.” Of course, eating inside Cinderella Castle has always been a bucket list item for this little dreamer at heart! LOL! Thanks for the read, Sephie….appreciate it!
I think it’s so sweet that your son went with you for that breakfast! He looks quite good there with Jasmine, haha! I know it’s an expensive meal but the food really does look pretty tasty, and what is cooler than eating in the castle?
Thanks, Becky!! I do like that picture of him with Jasmine ~ LOL!! Yes, the meal is a bit on the costly side, but the memory of this is simply priceless for me. Oh, and, yes, I completely agree – eating in Cinderella Castle was a dream come true! Thanks for the read, Becky!!
