Ah, the season of LOOOOOVVVEEEE! We are in the thick of another February and Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching. Most people who know what’s good for them have already planned their holiday festivities while others less organized scramble to figure out what restaurants still have openings. Oh, Hubby and I have plans already ~ dinner at Disney Springs. The boys have a show that night, so we won’t have to worry about them while we’re out. But romance doesn’t have to be limited to one day a year, my friends. Hubby and I are working hard to keep our relationship alive week by week and, I admit, living in back of the magic does help. Here are over 30 romantic ideas the two of us came up with to help you create a special memory of your own the next time you two visit or vacation at Walt Disney World.

Spending Date Night at Walt Disney World?
Walt Disney World is chock full of romantic opportunities. I mean, the ultimate dream of 90% of single women out there (not to exclude the men who love Disney!!) is to get married on Disney property (that number may be a little inflated, but c’mon – you get the picture). Heck! Those of us who are already married dream of renewing our vows here (oh, yeah ~ I’m one of them!!). There is just something captivating, sweet and romantic about this place. So – what romantic things (aside from getting married here) can a couple do at Walt Disney World??
According to Google, Romance is defined as “the feeling of excitement and mystery associated with love.”
Hubby and I have been enjoying date nights around Disney property since we moved here two years ago. Even before then, we enjoyed a few trips together and found some enchanting things to do in this magical place. During one of our recent date nights, we sat down and starting coming up with ideas we wanted to share. Some of Hubby’s were pretty outlandish, but he was engaged in the conversation. Sooooo ~ I can’t complain. We dug deep into our memory banks to recall the dates we enjoyed, as well as some of the dates we would like to pursue ourselves. Mind you, this list is incomplete. There is no way we could share EVERY idea we had in this one post. However, we did come up with a pretty decent handful. See how many of these you HAVE done and how many you WOULD LIKE to do!!
30+ Romantic Ideas To Try at Walt Disney World
Resorts and Dining
**Grab a Dole Whip at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and enjoy it together on the beach
Ummm ~ yum!!
**Make advanced dining reservations OR just wing it (there are just two of you) at a romantic restaurant on property.
Some ideas include Tutto Italia, Narcoossee’s, California Grill, Topolo’s, Toledo’s and Citrico’s. If you’re able to finagle the finances for it, Victoria & Albert’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & spa is TOP of the line when it comes to romantic dining (Oh, I’m still dreaming this one will come true some day for me).
**Walk around a Disney resort hand in hand – you never know what you might find on property or discover about each other.
**Rent a SeaRaycer or Pontoon boat for a fireworks cruise.

**Purchase a bottle of wine and a simple snack and enjoy all that in the lobby of one of the more romantic resorts
Have you read about how we did this at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa? It’s the perfect place for this idea!

**Watch the sunset from the top of California Grill or Bay Lake Tower (the latter is for Disney Vacation Club Members only)
**Watch the Happily Ever After fireworks from a location other than the parks
THIS is a HUGE one. For instance, some great locations include the beach at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, the pier at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the top of Disney’s Contemporary Resort at California Grill (have to have reservations for a meal there that day, though).

**Do the Monorail Loop together
Grab a drink or a snack at each of them (these include Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
Around the holidays, you can do this and make it all about the decorations!

The Boardwalk
**Ride a surrey bike together around the Boardwalk.
I have to admit that this was one of my favorite Disney date excursions!!
**Enjoy a drink together in Abracadabar
**Play the carnival games together along the Boardwalk once dusk arrives and the games open

**Spend the evening at Jelly Rolls Dualing Piano Bar on The Boardwalk

**Go dancing at Atlantic Dance on the Boardwalk
Disney Springs
**Go bowling together at Splitsville
**Enjoy a movie together – heck, do dinner and movie on the Dine-In Side of AMC in Disney Springs
**Watch the sunset from the bridge between Paddlefish and Rain Forest Cafe

**Create an edible work of art together at Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs (I have been wanting to do this for over a year now!!!)
**Walk around Disney Springs hand in hand at night and listen to as much of the musical entertainment as you can.
**Take flight on the Aerophile balloon (weather permitting!)

**Enjoy a ride in the Amphicar together (found near THE Boathouse in Disney Springs).

The Parks
**Grab a celebrate pin – write “Celebrating LOVE” on it and wear it during your day at the Parks.
You could even grab an anniversary pin, write in something you’re celebrating and wear THAT!
**Hold hands while riding Soarin’ at Epcot
**Have a sketch / caricature done of the two of you in France Pavilion in World Showcase at Epcot
This is soooooooooo on MY bucket list!!
**Take a ride in the Disney Skyliner at sunset.
I admit ~ we have yet to do this. My fear of heights like that still has a hold on me.
**Enjoy a game of mini golf together at either of the two miniature golf courses on Disney property.

**Purchase a special treat from The Confectionary (or any other Disney bakery), find a special location where you can see one of your favorite Disney icons or attractions, and share the moment and treat together
**Enjoy an ice cream cone together in the France Pavilion in World Showcase at Epcot
**Have a PhotoPass Photographer snap a photo of the two of you smooching
**Take a walk along the water’s edge between Disney’s Boardwalk Resort and Disney’s Hollywood Studios (I love this walk!!)
**Steal a kiss:
While going down each of these coasters’ drops – Expedition Everest, Splash Mountain or Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
While riding The Voyage of the Little Mermaid, The Haunted Mansion, The Seas with Nemo or The People Mover
**Take a tour together
We loved doing the Keys to the Kingdom tour for my xxish birthday a few years ago. Another great one for a date is the Wild Africa Trek!
**Have your photo done together with a Disney character – Mickey and Minnie over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Mickey Mouse over at Town Center in Magic Kingdom are my favorites!
**Enjoy one of the Epcot Festivals together.
We don’t really have a favorite, but our anniversary is during the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival…sooooooo…..

Even MORE creative and romantic ideas for a Walt Disney World date night:
Pick ONE country pavilion at Epcot to enjoy for an entire evening. Explore everything about that exhibit – inside and out. (You can grab some ideas by reading any of our eleven dates around World Showcase)
Select a restaurant, a store and a musician ~ plan the entire evening at Disney Springs around those three choices.

And the list goes on and on and on and on……..

Love these great ideas! I may try to sneak in a smooch or hand holding during a ride on our next trip.
LOL – that’s awesome! I’m working on something to go along with this – so keep an eye out.
I love everything about Disney. I never thought it could be a great idea spending Valentines there. I love this idea.
Awww – Walt Disney World can be sooooo romantic ~ AND….what’s great is that these 30+ ideas don’t have to be limited to just Valentine’s Day!! Anniversaries, birthdays, unbirthdays ~ you name it. They can be something two people do any time they get a chance to sneak away together while visiting!!
What fun ideas! My husband and I like to make sure we keep the magic alive with regular date nights. If we lived closer to Disney, that may be on the list! Either way, you have great ideas for things to do for romantic evenings away.
Awww, thanks, Magan!! I’m glad to hear you keep those date nights going, too. Oh, my goodness – they are critical, aren’t they???
Aww, such great ideas! There is so much more at Disney than people realize.
Right? What’s great is that there seems to be something new to discover with every visit!
I wish I lived closer to do these things solo with my hubby – we drive 5 hours to get to Disneyland and our kids would freak if we ever went without them – lol!
I can completely understand! It’s tough to disapoint the Littles! However, if you ever find a time to break away – trust me. You would never regret going just as a couple. You find different kinds of magic and actually experience things in a different way when you do.
I am not as Disney person but you have supplied those who are a reason to head to Disney to celebrate February 14th. 💖
Well, thank you, Christina. Not everyone has the same passion and love for this place, but I’m grateful that you took the time to read and comment.
Totally wish I lived near Disney now!!
I remember feeling that way! We have been all over the country. Finally, the 12th move got us here. LOL. Don’t ever give up on that dream if it’s something you really want to do. I’m still in shock we’re here, to be honest.
You always have the best ideas for an amazing time at Disney! Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas!
Awww – thanks, Holly!! I do love to share my passion for this place.
Yes please, to all of them! I still can’t believe I haven’t been to Disney yet!
Oh, my!! Lee Anne, we have to change that!! I’ll be hoping some pixie dust floats your way so you can find a way to visit.
What a great list! We spent part of our honeymoon at Disneyland, but all the rest of our trips have been with kids. Time to get back there with just the two of us.
It’s amazing how much more fun we had when we took the kids after a trip or two as a couple. No joke!!
So many love Disney for Romance! These are great tips!
Thanks, Tricia!! I actually have a bunch more I can’t wait to share!
I love this! I keep debating if I should go to Disney World with just my spouse and leave the kids with grandma!
LOL – I’m telling you, we cherished every time we came by ourselves. It gave us a new appreciation when we did take the kids. We were more willing to do what they wanted to do 🤣🤣🤣.
These are all great ideas. The Surrey Ride looked fun and is probably a really good exercise in working together! I also would like to rent a pontoon boat to see the fireworks. We’ve done the Pirates and Pals Cruise before with other people for fireworks, and that was really fun. It would be even more special to do a fireworks boat cruise as a date. I’m not sure if this is romantic, but it was fun. One year, my husband and I did an early morning 5K race, and then went and grabbed breakfast at Boma. We brought Grandma and she stayed at the resort with the kids, so it was nice for just my husband and me to be able to go out to breakfast and eat at our own pace, not worrying about the kids.
Awww – I love it, Noelle! Yes – it is romantic…because you two did something together that made you smile inside and out!! I love it!
So cool that you and your husband do these dates. Jelly Rolls sounds like a fun place!
Doesn’t it? We haven’t done that one yet – but it’s on our short list. Hopefully within a month or so (hmmmm….my birthday is coming up!!)
Great ideas! I love the fireworks from outside the park and the electric water pageant and riding the Skyliner.
LOL – it’s funny you mentioned the Electrical Water Pageant because my husband absolutely hates it! 🤣🤣🤣. He was so glad we didn’t see it the night we did our date at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Now, we haven’t ridden the Disney Skyliner yet….I guess we need to cross that one off our bucket list soon!
These all look like so much fun! My fiance is a hopeless romantic so I’m sure he would enjoy these as well…. one day…. lol
Oh, man!! A hopeless romantic??? You lucked out, girl!! I hope you get to cross a couple of these ideas off your bucket list with him some day!!
My most romantic time at Disney was our honeymoon. We spent 10 days the Grand Floridian and it was incredible.
Great tips! We will have to try some of these when we go back in 18 days!!! (not that we are counting : )
There’s some great ideas to share at Walt Disney World
Hope one day to do this! Thanks for the ideas and tips 🙂
I am going to send this link to my Disney friends! They are huge Disney fans but I am not sure they know about all of these LOVE options!
Amazing and fun ideas! Thank you for sharing.
This sounds like such a magical time! I’d love to do this next year I think it would be a great experience
Wow. I had no idea there were so many fun things to do at Disney. I haven’t been there since the 1980’s. It’s like a completely different place. I’d do the balloon ride, followed by a drink at the Dueling Pianos bar, followed by dinner at the Tutto Italia, finishing up the evening by watching the sunset from the bridge. Now I just need a date and a plane ticket!! 😊
Well, you have the plan ~ which is half the success right there! I love how you organized the day – I may just have to try to put some action behind it. The only thing would be maybe switching up Jelly Rolls and Tutto Italia. Jelly Rolls opens around 8 pm, I believe, and Epcot closes around 9 or 10 (depending on the season). So, maybe balloon ride at Disney Springs, an early dinner at Tutto Italia (Epcot), watch the sunset from the Boardwalk as you walk over to Jelly Rolls for the Dueling Pianos…..See, now you have me trying to create a beautiful evening!!
Great ideas! The most *romantic* place on earth 🙂
Awww – thanks, Christina! Out of all the places we’ve lived in this country, I have to concur. I think we have had the most romantic dates right here.
There were just too many things to say which was my favorite. I think anything Disney and you wont walk away disappointed.
Right? You should see the things I wanted to add to the list after I published it! LOL. Not to mention, with everything coming, I’m sure more ideas and opportunities will come.
such a smart theme to dates! I know so many so cal folks that will love this!
Awww – thanks, Jen! 😊💕
Waching the sunset from the top of California Grill would be date of choice. So many good options.
That is a good one – especially after a beautiful, romantic dinner 💝
These are fascinating ideas not only on Valentines Day. I love the amphicar and it’s something we would do while watching the sunsets.
What an amazing post! You always blow me away on how knowledgeable you are about Disney resorts.
